“Juxtaposition is a word we like”

Juxtaposition, in the most basic sense, is a wonderful set of vowels and consonants arranged in five fabulous syllables to make a fun and intelligent sounding word. On another level I enjoy the definition of juxtaposition in design, in nature and in life.

Noun 1. juxtaposition – the act of positioning close together (or side by side); “it is the result of the juxtaposition of contrasting colors”

collocation, apposition

locating, positioning, emplacement, location, placement, position – the act of putting something in a certain place

tessellation – the careful juxtaposition of shapes in a pattern; “a tessellation of hexagons”

2. juxtaposition – a side-by-side position

position, place – the particular portion of space occupied by something; “he put the lamp back in its place”

I find it amusing how many people overuse the word juxtaposition just to revel in the fun of seeing the opposite contrast . Therefore this quote is, on many front, awesome.
